Each pendant begins as a complete paua shell, which I carefully shape and polish by hand into a smooth circular disc. This labour-intensive process preserves the shell's natural iridescent beauty while creating a wearable work of art. No two pieces are exactly alike – each one showcases unique patterns of blues, greens, purples, and pinks that shimmer and change in the light.
